Why Is This Unique?
Jasper is a compact sedimentary material – an opaque variety of chalcedony that is chosen for its beautiful color, pattern or appearance when cutting is done. While picture jasper can be found all over the world, specific colors or patterns are unique to the geographic region from which they originate. Red Falcon Jasper comes from northern Nevada and colors can be wildly sporadic but the material is known for its trademark plumes, which often appear to be flowering or have a lightning-strike type of design.
