Why Is This Unique?
Pronounced OH-WAH-HEE Jasper. Jasper is a compact sedimentary material – an opaque variety of chalcedony that is chosen for its beautiful color, pattern or appearance when cutting is done. While picture jaspers can be found all over the world, specific colors or patterns are unique to the geographic region from which they originate. Hailing from Idaho, one will occasionally find incredible color contrast within Owyhee Jasper, but it is limited to have sunset or sunrise colors in the material and the pink hues are EXTREMELY rare. This is all very old antique material.
